While IGRINS is being stored it is desirable that the HKP be left running so the instrument status can be remotely monitored.

After the IGRINS storage procedure has been followed:

  1. Open a terminal window on the ICC and type “cd ~/igrins_admin”
  2. In a new terminal, the HKP can be started by typing:
    1. “cd ~/igrins_admin”
    2. Start the ICS Hub by opening a terminal and typing
      1. > cd ~/igrins_admin
      2. > sh run_icshub
    3. You should see the Hub open, and it will say:
      1. 'Update Obsdate', which doesn't matter in this case.
      2. Check mount - Fail or Okay
      3. Check Proxy - Fail or Okay
  3. Click 'run HKP'.
  4. Click “Periodic Monitoring” to begin temperature and pressure logging.
  5. Click 'Send Alert (T>30)' on the HKP window as long as the second coldhead is below that value. It the 2nd coldhead is above 30K, then email alerts will be sent.
  6. In another terminal, we need to have the HKP uploader running. It should always be running, but if the HKP monitor is not working, then start the script:
    1. open a terminal
    2. > cd ~/igrins_admin
    3. > sh run_hk2firebase.sh
