IGRINS should remain cold while being stored at McDonald
- After removing IGRINS from the telescope and placing in the proper place on the dome floor, connect the A/B/C cables for the temperature sensors.
- Attach the pressure gauge cable.
- Reconnect the coldhead power and helium lines, and start the helium compressor.
- The fiber optic network cable must be connected so the instrument can be monitored remotely.
- Do not:
- Connect detector power and USB unless requested.
- Press the power button on the three black Windows computers in the electronics cabinet.
- Flip the power switch on the back of the electronics rack and then press the red button inside the rack, at the very top.
- The first four buttons on the EATON power supply (ThAr,THL,UNe, Motor) need to be turned off.
- The Lakeshore heaters should be set to normal operating temperatures.
- Housekeeping Package should be started and verified by looking at the webpage: https://igrins-hk.firebaseapp.com
- Note:
- Large jolts and impacts can harm the optics and the detectors are sensitive to power fluctuations.
- As part of Fduty please ensure that heaters are operating normally, that the dewar pressure is lower than 1E-7 torr, and that the CTI Coldhead is making the appropriate maraca noises.
