General Information
The team captain and all players are responsible for all information contained in the
General Rules Page
and in the following page.
Footwear and apparel must be appropriate for the tennis courts.
Teams will play a doubles format.
Coed teams must play with 1 male and 1 female on the court at all times.
Court and Boundaries
The playing court is the service area of a tennis court.
A ball that touches the Line is in.
A ball that touches the Net is out.
Players may not touch the net at any time.
Scoring and time outs
Scoring will be rally style.
Teams will play 3 sets to 15 points, win by 2, cap at 20 points.
All 3 sets will be played regardless if one team wins the first 2.
Each team may use one 30 second time out per set.
Serving
Teams will conduct a coin toss to choose first serve/side of court.
The serve must take place behind the service box line on the server’s side of the court.
The server may drop kick or kick off one bounce.
The serve must land in the opposite service box.
A server has 2 attempts to complete a serve (like a let serve in tennis).
Playing the ball
Teams have 3 touches and 1 bounce to return the ball over the net.
The bounce can occur at any point during the return.
The ball may be played directly from the serve. It does not have to bounce in the service area before being played.
A ball played directly from the serve must either bounce, or be touched more than once, before going over the net.
Players do not have to alternate touches, but one player may not touch the ball more than twice.
Players may touch the ball with any part of the body other than the arms or hands. The shoulders are legal.
