The College of Education provides limited access to Matlab for students in certain classes, faculty and approved staff by request. By using CoE Desktop, our virtual desktop infrastructure, Matlab can be accessed from your own laptop.

Log into CoE Desktop

After we have provisioned you in the system, go to https://desktop.edb.utexas.edu and login with your UT EID.

If you’ve never used CoE Desktop before, click on the Downloads link on the right

Then download and install the vWorkspace client (Windows)

Or the vWorkspace Connector for Mac (OS X)

You may have to restart your web-browser.  Log in again and you will be able to select the CoE_Matlab desktop

Once the desktop becomes available, you can select Start Menu -> All Programs -> Applications -> Matlab

Matlab is a big program and takes a little bit of time to load. Check the status in the bottom-left corner. Wait for the status to change from "Initializing..." to "Ready"
