What is the best method to access email off-campus? Use a web-based server!

From site https://wmail.austin.utexas.edu you may access your email on the "austin.utexas.edu" server from any web browser. You will need to know your UT EID (electronic ID), your EID password. Make sure you know all this information before you travel. The only disadvantage to this site is that it is somewhat slow. It is best to access during the lower-demand evening and weekend hours.

Please remember that if you choose to use a modem to dial long-distance to the University’s server using an ACITS account, you are financially responsible for any long-distance telephone costs incurred. This can cost hundreds of dollars, which the department budget simply cannot afford, especially when these other viable options exist.
