How to use the Palmer 16 mm Projector

Thread the film by following the diagram on top of the projector.
Thread pattern is in RED.

Will need to open the following gates to thread the film

Sprockets will hold film on to threading path here
and close the gate

Thread film through the film gate
and close the gate to hold the film in place

Make sure this lever is pushed down in the THREAD position
so that the film will thread through properly.

Thread film through this slot after pushing down
the lever to the ‘THREAD’ position

The last gate to open and thread the film through is this one.

Open/close this gate by pulling this lever

Line up the film on the sprockets
so film is held in place once the gate is closed

Example of the gate closed

Thread film on to a take up reel like this one

Turn LAMP to NORM and set projector to RUN

Turn the focus knob to focus the film.

One more hint is to apply a tiny bit of pressure
on the playback reel to fix jumping film

To rewind film turn off LAMP AND leave projector on RUN

To rewind film turn off LAMP AND leave projector on RUN

Put this lever in the REVERSE REWIND position
and then projector will begin rewinding the film automatically
