Download online videos with Savevid.com

Savevid.com is a tool which gives you the ability to download videos from streaming video sites. You can download videos from Youtube, Google Videos, Metacafe, Vimeo and more in FLV, AVI, MOV, MPG or WMV formats.

Step 1.

In a browser, go to the video you want
to save.

Highlight the URL and copy to the clipboard.

Step 2.

In a second browser,
 go to http://www.savevid.com

Paste the URL of the video you want to save into the URL window.

Click ---> Download

Note:
See Supported sites for a list of sites to see if the video you are trying to save is supported by Savevid.com

You might be required to verify the digital signature
from Savevid.com.

If so, you can click ALLOW

(you can also click the checkbox to always
allow applets from this site).

Step 3.

Once Savevid processes the video it
gives you several options for downloading
different versions, all with varying formats
and quality.

You want to choose the MP4 (or HD version
if available).  The MP4 version is most
compatible with PC and Mac and can easily
be imported into Powerpoint.

Click the button next to the version you want
to download and the video will begin
to download to your computer.

Note:
You want to make sure that you download
the highest possible quality.  Look over the
options that Savevid gives you and be sure
and choose the version that has the highest
screen resolution (1920x1080, 1280x720, etc.)

If you will be using the video in a Flash project
you can download an FLV version to use in the
project. If you are not working with Adobe Flash,
always choose MP4 (or HD).
