- Log and capture footage (selects). Do not overlook importance of logging.
- Assembly cut pre-preliminary cut. Only scenes put together in order but without thoughts to cutting
- Rough Cut preliminary cut. Cutting has roughly been done to frame, but there is still place to move around.
- Picture Lock Finished edit without sound.
- Edit Sound Sound editing begins.
- Sound Mix sound is mixed into one track.
