Conservation Information covers actions taken to ensure the protection and proper care of a Collection Object. Actions such as whitening a specimen for photography, and the subsequent removal of the white smoke are Conservation Information. Also, chemical processes not associated with Specimen Prep belong here. Examples of this would be noting in the short description that a recent coral was chemically bleached prior to being housed in the collection. Long-term conservation care is tracked here, such as a specimen that is showing signs of pyritic decay. Treatment report is the field where you'd log the actions taken, such as a desalination bath for smoked specimens or silica gel and rehousing in the fossil hospital for the pyritic specimen. Publications detailing the technique, hand written notes, and photographs can all be attached to the record using the Attachment button.
