Labels with this title indicate that the specimen has been loaned permanently to an institution. The state of Texas does not allow state property to be given away. Therefore, any specimens that fall under this classification are considered still to be property of the University of Texas, but will never be requested to be returned. Similarly, specimens on permanent exhibit also will never be requested to be returned.
