UT Green Commute
On April 15, RecSports, Parking & Transportation Services, and other stakeholders will hold this event at Gregory Plaza. There will be bike registration and representatives from organizations like Cap Metro, Zip Car, and Orange Bike to raise awareness and answer questions on green transport to campus.
We'll also include presentations by students, faculty, and staff involved in sustainability projects. This will include information pertaining to the economic and environmental advantages to utilizing alternative transportation.
One month prior to the event, marketing and outreach will begin to publicize the event. A “challenge” encouraging members of the campus community to track their personal use of alternative transportation leading up to the event will be made possible a smartphone/web app. The details of this contest and the app are not yet finalized.
