Step-by-step Guide: Adding Data by Layers Tab
This is the easiest and most common method to add content to Map Viewer.
- Click Add Layer.
- Click the drop down Menu of My Content to chose the location of content and search by location.
- My Content: Displays and enables search for only content that the User owns.
- Click Browse Layer.
- Chose the location of content or search location by clicking the drop down Menu of My Content.
- My Content: Displays and enables search for only content that the User owns.
- My Favorites: Displays and enables search for only content that the User has favorited. Users can Favorite content by selecting the star icon on the bottom left of a content items thumbnail.
- My Organization: Displays and enables search for content only shared and the Organizational level.
- Subscription Content: Displays and enables search for content only subscripted to by the user. Most Living Atlas content is free but some require a subscription.
- Living Atlas: Displays and enables search for content only in the Living Atlas which is composed by ESRI.
- ArcGIS Online: Displays and enables search for all content shared at a Public level.
- Click the plus sign icon located at the bottom left desired content item to add to Map Viewer.

Steps Regardless of Content Type
- Click Add Data on the left side panel to display options.
- Select one of the options.
Steps for Browse Layers

- Copy and paste desired URL in the box below URL.
- Personal CSV files need to be uploaded to AGOL before adding it to Map Viewer. This creates a shareable URL.
- Sharable URL is found on the bottom right hand side of the Overview Page of the specific CSV.

- Click Add to Map.
Steps for KML
- Click KML.
- Copy and paste desired URL in the box below URL.
- KML files need to be uploaded to AGOL before adding it to Map Viewer. This creates a shareable URL.
- Sharable URL is found on the bottom right hand side of the Overview Page of the specific KML.

- Click Add to Map.
Steps for Web Serves
- Click Web Service
- Copy and paste desired URL in the box below URL.
- Web Services need to be created before adding it to Map Viewer. This creates a shareable URL for the data.
- Sharable URL is found on the bottom right hand side of the Overview Page of the specific Web Services.
- Web Services include Feature Layer, Imagery Layer, Elevation Layer, Map Image Layer, and Tile Layer.
- Click Add to Map.
