  • Student fills out their Advising Form online, which routes to their program Area Chair (Program Director for CE & SSP).
  • Note: students are encouraged to chat informally first with their faculty mentor about plans before submitting their form.
  • Area Chair

  • receives an automatic email from the advising system to review the form. Area Chair approves or rejects the form (if rejecting, be sure to include notes about why before sending!)
  • Kim processes the Advising Form data, clears Advising Bars, and sets course restrictions based on advised #s.
  • Students register for their advised courses during their registration access periods.
  • If a student needs to make a change to their approved coursework, they must submit a new Advising Form.

“Advised Report”: this report in the Advising Box folder is updated at the end of each day during advising. It shows the current list of students advised into EDP graduate classes. Kim keeps an eye on this and will notify ACs early of any under/over-enrolled courses.
