Doctoral candidates in BME are encouraged to propose in their second year of the program and no later than the end of the third year. Candidates who do not propose by August 31 of their third year must submit a letter, co-signed with their advisor, detailing the reasons they were unable to propose on time and their plan to propose deadline extension request
