The most important safety factors to know about using the robots
- The robots are only to be operated while a staff member of the Tech Lab is present with you in the robot room.
- The robots can only be operated while the Tech Lab is open during normal hours. There are no exceptions to this rule.
- Students must operate the robot in manual mode, not automatic mode. Manual mode means the student has to physically hold down the safety buttons on the teach pendant. Automatic mode can be extremely dangerous when running untested programs and therefore is prohibited.
- The student should remain outside of the reach of the robots while operating the arms.
