HOW TO MIGRATE (Estimated time to complete: 5 to 10 minutes)

Note

There may be a delay of about a minute between some of the steps where it can appear that nothing is happening.

1. Open the Self Service application

2. Under Migrate to Campus Jamf, click Migrate

3. After reviewing the description, click Migrate again

4. At the popup window click Continue

5. When System Preferences opens, click Install or Continue to install the MDM Profile (windows in the following steps will look slightly different depending on which version of macOS your computer is running)

6. When prompted, "Are you sure . . ." click Install

7. At the Profiles window, enter your computer password and click OK

8. If any System Extension Blocked windows open during the migration, click OK

9. The Self Service app will quit, and additional profiles will begin to install over the next several minutes (there may be a delay of about a minute between the next few steps)

10. Once migration is complete click OK

11. You can then use your computer as normal (some clean up processes will continue to run in the background so try to leave your computer awake and connected to the internet for at least 15 minutes after migration)

FAQ

Note

1. I never got the prompt to install the MDM profile (as shown in steps 5-7). Try opening the System Preferences app, clicking on Profiles, then MDM Profile, and the Install button, if available.

2. I installed the MDM profile, but then nothing else seemed to happen. Open the UT Self Service app. As long as it looks like the screenshot below with the UT Seal icon in the top left, the migration was successful.

3. Something else went wrong. If you still have the old Self Service app show in the screenshot below, try starting the migration process again, otherwise contact us HERE:  QUICK HELP FORM

Note

What's different now that I've migrated my Mac to Campus Jamf?

From time to time you may see a macOS update window like the one below on the left. You'll have the option to run the update immediately by clicking the Update Now button (be sure to save any open documents first), or you can defer the update by clicking the Defer button at the bottom right. (Note that you have a limited number of times that you can defer the update before it will run automatically.) When you click the Update Now button you'll be brought to a Software Update window like the one below on the right. Click the Install Now button to install the update. Your computer will restart during the update process. For more details about the macOS update process see OS Patching: UT Macintosh Security Update and Reboot Policy

The Self Service app is now named UT Self Service, it looks different and has different options. The Browse section contains options to install or reinstall the common suite of apps.
