By default data is generally retained until it has been removed from the lineup of files selected for backup, until the file has been deleted by its owner on their local computer, or until certain administrative actions with destructive consequences are performed on a backup data archive.
Files in UTBackup are retained* on a sliding scale, based on last edit, for the following default intervals:
Last week: versions of files at 15 minute intervals are retained.
Last 90 Days: daily versions of files are retained
Last Year: weekly versions of files are retained
Previous Years: monthly versions of files are retained
Deleted files: removed every month
*Please note that retention settings are adjustable by UTBackup department administrators and specified settings may be very different from the listed defaults.
