As a student, most of the questions you encounter in Quest will probably be standard multiple choice questions. There are four other types of questions your instructor can use in Quest. This sub section goes over the differences between the question types and how you can recognize them.
Algebraic Free Response Questions
Multiple choice
When you come to this type of question slide, simply select your answer from the answer choices remembering to submit your answer.
Short Answer
This question type is looking for a specific keyword, or set of keywords. The entries are not case-sensitive, but they are space sensitive. If you have issues with the submissions to these questions check with your instructor.
Essay
These questions simply record the text in the box for your instructor to grade later. If these questions appear on your assignment, you will not receive an overall grade on the assignment until these items have been graded.
Numerical Free Response
These questions are looking for a number response, it also accepts scientific notation.
The following question types will accept answers equivalent to the correct one, however approximations will not be accepted. If retries are allowed, then you'll be able to submit 7 attempts for these questions, while it will not allow you to view your previous attempts, similar attempts will not be counted against you.
These question types also make use of a pallet to help format responses properly, which appears when the answer box is clicked.

This type of question is expecting a function in response.
Interval or List Type questions
This type of question will accept answers equivalent to the correct one, however approximations will not be accepted.
