When connecting to the Linux Application Servers via a PC running Windows and want to utilize a graphical interface, the PC will need to interact with the server through the X-windows system, forwarding the display from the server to the PC.  Software (X server) must be installed and be running on a PC to make this work, alongside an SSH client (PuTTY).

PuTTy can be downloaded from http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html
Xming can be downloaded from http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?group_id=156984&filename=Xming-6-9-0-31-setup.exe

Once PuTTy and Xming have been downloaded to the PC, install according to the respective instructions below.

For additional security, it is highly recommended to create firewall rules within the Windows Firewall application to prevent your system and the X server from being publicly accessible.  Please use the guide below to properly install, configure, and secure your X sessions.
