GTAG Signs are finished!

5/16/2017

Last Friday,  some Physical Plant crew members and Veliz Construction installed, leveled, and permanently mounted the 8' sign...
Louis Kennedy got some pictures as the work progressed...
Some minor cleanup needed and the individual "slices" of the sign now have to be installed, but it looks great!
(Atlassian rotated these images, will orient them correctly later!)

The concrete work at the GTAG is complete. Once the testing of the concrete is complete (I think Ana said she would get the sample from the newest "batch" when she is on site Monday, then it will be 7 days or so to get results), they will return to remove all the forms and refill the dirt, so if this all goes well, we should be able to install the large 8' sign within the next couple of weeks.....
As always, Veliz did a great job and these pads are HEAVY DUTY....
I hope everyone has a great weekend...

Veliz Construction has been working hard digging and putting up forms for the concrete foundation for the GTAG Sign...
Kelly has been working closely with them and assisting when needed.
They poured the first layer concrete this morning...

Nick with Intertech came in this morning and got the carpet and molding installed! It looks GREAT!!! His finishing work was very clean and very professional.

The two tones of the carpet contrast very nicely and the 6" molding was just right for this application.

Just a couple of quick shots after we laid out the 91 "mirror segments" in the GTAG earlier.....it's going to fit!!
We are going to leave it laid out so that I can show the carpet installers tomorrow when they arrive....

Imagecraft got on site early yesterday and has made a lot of progress on the wraps.
I tried to get a few pictures this morning so you can see what they look like.
They look very well done to me and the installation is looking good as well.

The "garage door" in the GTAG is now up. We will try to put some caution tape inside there so the guys can work and visitors can see the telescope/dome area through the viewing glass.

Some pictures from this morning....all/most of the green should be completed today. Walls are all touched up and mostly ready for wraps. Electric boxes still need to be installed for the 3 Monitors...

Good Morning All,
Jimmy and Isaiah were able to install a few sample tiles yesterday. We also used a "black out" 3M tape designed to cover the rails for a finished look.
The color of these tiles is more of a charcoal/dark slate color than actual black, but I think it will do the job very nicely. Any smudges you see in the pictures will be cleaned when the job is complete.
Please let me know if you want my crew to proceed. I would like to get all the ceiling work and track lighting done as soon as possible to avoid interfering with the exhibits builder and other contractors that will be in and out over the next few months. I should be able to keep a crew of two in there all the time until completion barring any emergencies on the mountain.
It's hard to get any good pictures of such dark panels, but hopefully you can get an idea of what it looks like.
