First, log in to Webspace's Xythos interface using your UT EID, and EID password.

In the main Xythos window click on "New Folder". This is located at the lower right of the Xythos toolbar. Provide a directory name when asked. Then provide the email of the person that you wish to share with. After clicking next there will be a brief delay while Xythos determines if this is a known user who can log in with their own account, or if it should generate a ticket to allow access. Once it decides you will go to a screen which will let you set the access type of the user. If a ticket is needed, then you will also see a section of this page which will let you set ticket properties such as password, or lifetime. Click next, and you will now be sent to a template of a message that will be sent to your collaborator, and which has a link to the newly created directory. Add any additional information to the message that you wish, and then click next, and finish.

Now you have created a directory that both you and your collaborator can access. Because this is outside of the www folder you will see in the Xythos interface it will not be publicly available. Only yourself, and people that you have granted access are able to access files in the folder. Once it is created, you can click on the folder, and use the Xythos toolbar to manage it (perhaps by adding more users, files, or deleting it).

CCBB now has our own departmental website. If you need to upload or download files larger than the standard quota, please let us know so we can set up a folder for you.
