The UGS communications team is working to create content to help Drupal users navigate UGS style guidelines and Drupal quirks. If there is any topic you'd like to see discussed here, please email Drupal admin.

Design Process

The UGS design team in the Dean’s Office is available to design any promotional materials your office needs. Examples: posters, programs, brochures, flyers, emails, T-shirts, easels. All material will be designed within the Undergraduate Studies visual brand. You will have input on the design, photos used, and overall message. Some design elements are critical to maintaining the overall Undergraduate Studies brand, and are non-negotiable.

Working on your own design? Thinking of new project ideas? Review UGS design guidelines and view examples of UGS print pieces.

Blogs

UGS blogs use the "Cutline" Wordpress theme with a photo banner featuring the office logo and signature color. Blogs should be updated weekly with new posts. If your office would like to create a new blog, email the UGS communications team The communications team will request the blog URL and create a photo banner.

Powerpoint Templates

The Dean's office uses a Powerpoint template that is available for anyone in the school to use. Feel free to change out photos for ones that are more appropriate for your program or presentation, or use the ones already in the powerpoint. If you choose to design your own presentation, please follow the UGS design guidelines

Word Templates

Microsoft Word templates for use making forms and flyers are available for each of Undergraduate Studies's program areas. Please contact the UGS design team to request a copy of your program's template.

Trademarks & Licensing

The university requires us to submit all of our designs to the Trademarks & Licensing office. T-shirts and other non-paper items with the UT Austin word mark must be approved before they are printed. Submit the Students & Internal Requests form with a design to trademarks@athletics.utexas.edu. Please allow five business days. Find out more about trademark policy.

Photo Release Form

The university has a standard Talent Release Form. If you are taking photos or videos of students, you should ask them to sign this. The form documents a subject’s agreement to let you record him or her, and also approves the use, exhibition, or distribution of the photos or video. It will clarify the fact that they are giving you permission to use the images on future promotional materials or a website, for example.
