McCombs students are required to have notebook computers. Much of the software used in McCombs Business School courses is available for students to install on these notebooks. The vast majority of installable software is available for free from the software publisher or free to current students through some academic program. A handful of applications must be purchased but are still available at greatly reduced prices for students.
The applications listed below are available for students to install onto their own personal laptop or home desktop computer. Click the name of an application to go to that application's profile page. The profile page for each application explains where students can download the software or where they must purchase the software in few cases. If help pages exist to explain how to install or use the software, those will also be listed. If Lynda.com contains training videos related to the software, then that will be listed as well. Lynda.com is a professional online training company and university partner that provides business and software training for all current faculty, staff and students. For more information about Lynda.com please visit Lynda at McCombs.
Certain applications are available as part of a basic Windows VM that students can obtain from the SWAT Shop at CBA 1.324. These VMs are primarily intended for Mac users who need to use this software offline instead of using mCloud Apps. Students should who do not have a Windows computer or an existing Windows VM for their Mac computer should use mCloud Apps for these applications whenever possible.
For more information about how to use these on a Mac please see the Mac User Survival Guide.
