In the rare case that you need to enter in your bitlocker recovery key, you can now follow these instructions to obtain the key yourself from your phone or other device.

  1. Restart your computer. If you are prompted again follow the remaining steps.
     

  2. Goto https://bitlocker.engr.utexas.edu on your phone or secondary computer.
     

  3. Login with your EID and password
     

  4. Enter the first 8 characters of the recovery key ID into the field on the website.



  5. Select a reason then click on the Get Key button.

  6. Enter the bitlocker recovery key from the website into the field on the system that is current locked out.
