Software Tutorials

The Service Desk staff offer personalized software training to small groups who would like to learn a new software or acquire certain skills for upcoming assignments.  While our staff are not trained in all the software titles available through the school, we often have on the team 'power users' of popular programs, such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and Rhino. A minimum of 5 students is needed to set up a training session and advanced notice is needed to coordinate the type and time for training. Please email soatechdesk@utexas.edu to request software training.

Note about getting on-demand help at the Service Desk: Our staff are always available to help, but the software competencies of individual staff members varies based on academic interests.  While we can offer quick one-on-one help at the desk, our primary responsibilities while on duty may prevent us from giving you in-depth individual help.  Software websites often have discussion boards and guides for training and troubleshooting.  Many independent websites and Youtube videos also offer instruction.  Google on!

Access to  LinkedIn Learning (previously Lynda.com) is free for faculty, staff, and students.
