Are we finally to the development point that we spoke of year's ago where I can have a hydrant layer, celebrated entrance, etc?

Trice Humpert
location of parking spots and the pass needed would be great!

Cindy PoseyNIs there a plan to communicate about the new map to campus?

Sue is working with UT and FAS Communications.
Adriana RojasNI would just like to see what the protocol would be if we wanted to make our dining locations more prominent on the map at some point.

Liz KeeneNOnce we address mobile compatibility and other comments received I think we're in great shape. The map looks great as far as I am concerned, and provides additional functionality that will benefit many stakeholders.

Jim WalkerNlooking forward to being able to add layers we can manage!

Bobby StoneYParking needs to be a layer. it should have three sections. Public parking is one layer, Lot parking with permit required second level, event parking third layerNNSue is working with Gloria Collins on a PTS (parking & biking) solution.
Jennifer MaedgenNPlease create a layer for accessibility information (e.h., building entrances) and a disclaimer of sorts that the directions may not take accessible paths of travel into account. We do not currently have accessible paths of travel information, but PMCS is contracting with an accessibility specialist to conduct a survey.

Sue will engage SSD once map governance established.

Jennifer SingerYComments sent via email to Roy:
  • Use shield+TEXAS mark instead of shield only. (Using the shield along is not allowed)
  • Add on hover text titles for the navigation Acronyms title=""
  • Did not expect the mobile menu to be hidden behind the Texas shield. This is not good. Would be better to add “Menu” icon, not hamburger with the other two icons, they would all three look too similar.
  • Alternatively, move the legend icon over to the left side of the screen with zoom, Default Extent and My Location making room for the additional maps menu on mobile.
  • Alternatively, could probably use more room around the three icons in the legend menu, minimize, expand (this icon may not be common and it’s different than the one used in the building details-keep them consistent), and close.
  • OR maybe just keep the legend minimized at the bottom on mobile?
  • Would want the layer list, base map gallery, directions, nav button to also close, in addition to the “x” — or maybe the icon is confusing to me, seems like it’s an open/close menu with the hamburger style and arrow down.
  • Could a Menu icon include the other maps AND layer list, base map gallery, directions?
  • Searched for “tower” and no results were found. Can there be “common names” for things included in the search terms?
  • The mobile view of building details is a little frustrating, I think I want it larger, but I want to click on the bar to see more. Maybe the arrow icon is an expand icon like it is on desktop? Maybe it’s larger so the preview is larger? Or are there plans to include more in the preview, I see “1 of 1" text at the bottom that refers to nothing (without any context).
  • Many of the building details photos are cut off on mobile.

James BurattiYQuestions: Are the Building Details pages also going to use ARCGIS maps or keep the Google Maps as insets? Under Directions, would it be possible to recognize the building abbreviations since users will see those on the map? Same for common names Google/Apple can find like UT Tower, that ARCGIS does not recognize? It currently does not recognize them. There is a loss of current functionality in driving directions, as the current map will move to open Google maps on mobile, giving users turn-by-turn audible directions. This new version offer directions, but they appear not to be interactive . Without hopping in my car I'm not 100% sure that is the case, though. If it has lost this functionality is there a way to fix that? like add a send to phone or open Apple/Google Maps option/link? That's my initial thoughts. The potential is good. Mobile is much smoother than it used to be.YY

Bldg details will continue to use Google Map inset.

Added tower search.

Added Google directions link to pop-ups.
