Researchers access the IP cameras in CMB1 BSL via an Usher app. Permissions to the app are controlled by the research lab administrators. 

How to create a new research group

 

1. Log into Usher (http://usher.communication.utexas.edu) and click on Behavioral Science Lab Administration.

2. Click on the "Authorizations" tab.

3. Under the section "Create New Research Group", type a name for the group and set a start and end date.
Note that you must set dates, but they can be many years in the future if you wish to provide ongoing access.
Once you have set the name and dates, click "create group"

How to add users to a research group

 

1. Log into Usher (http://usher.communication.utexas.edu) and click on Behavioral Science Lab Administration.

2. Click on the "Authorizations" tab.

3. Click on the group you wish to add to.

 

4. Type in the EID(s) of the user(s) you wish to add to the group. Click "add user" or press Return on your keyboard.

Close the window when you are finished adding users.

How to delete users from a research group

 

1. Log into Usher (http://usher.communication.utexas.edu) and click on Behavioral Science Lab Administration.

2. Click on the "Authorizations" tab.

3. Click on the group you wish to remove users from.

 

4. Click the red "x" to remove a user. 

Close the window when you are finished adding users.

How to delete a research group

 

1. Log into Usher (http://usher.communication.utexas.edu) and click on Behavioral Science Lab Administration.

2. Click on the "Authorizations" tab.

 3. Click on the group you wish to delete. If it is not empty, remove all users from the group. If the group is empty, you will see a "delete group" button.
