Description of the decision made

Since fringe benefits will be paid from the same accounts as salaries (with a few exceptions), account audits in the Budget Update Document (BUD) will be modified to expand the usage of the fringe benefit appropriation code (2F).

Recommendation

The BUD will allow the fringe benefit appropriation code (2F) to be used with salary sub-accounts -01, -09 and -10 in addition to the sub -14 for specific accounts.  Users will be required to budget fringe benefits in the appropriate salary sub-account except where a documented exception exists.

Timeframe

This is a programming change that will take effect in the 2018-19 Budget Update Document (Spring 2018).
