Description of Decision to be made:

Workday functionality will allow student jobs to be assigned for up to one year, where current processes will only allow them to be assigned by semester. CSUs will need to take action to end the assignment if benefits eligibility changes or the student terminates employment. Managers and HR Partners will still be responsible for checking that start and end dates are correct for benefits-eligible student jobs. This change was vetted with a student employment discovery group that included readiness coordinators, HR-student employment and representatives from the Graduate School in spring 2016.  Since then, the project has continued to work closely with HR and those responsible for policy oversight in the Graduate School to ensure compliance with undergraduate and graduate rules related to employment,

Recommendation:

This decision was previously vetted by a student discovery group made up of CSU processors and final approvers. The issue has been reviewed by the business owners and the above description represents their recommendation.

Recommended Campus Stakeholders to Engage:

HR Representatives from CSUs that are processors and final approvers of student assignments.
