Each layer has different built-in operations depending on the layers contents. Typically you will get:
Show/Hide Content Layers
Click the check box to the left of the layer to enable or disable that data layer
Reordering Content Layers
in order to reorder layers move your mouse over the layers hovering to the left of the disable/enable contents check box and until the cursor changes to 4 arrows, click the layer and drag it up or down to reorder layers.
Show Legend
Click the show legend icon to show the symbology below the layer. Click icon again to turn off legend.
Show Data Table
Click the show table icon and the data table appears below the map window. Click icon again to turn off attribute data.
Change Style
Click the change style icon to open the Change Style dialog box.
- Select the attribute to use for stylization.
- Select the drawing style by clicking the Options button
- Click Done button.
