Read-only snapshots are periodically taken of your home directory contents. Like Windows backups or Macintosh Time Machine, these backups only consume disk space for files that change (are updated or deleted), in which case the previous file state is "saved" in a snapshot.

NFS access to the snapshots (as documented in the following paragraphs) is currently not working correctly. You can access them via samba, although your may get an error when you first try to access them, and then have success on the second access attempt. You can also contact rctf-support@utexas.edu to request that we recover files from either your snapshots or backups if needed. |
