Importing Your Lectures from Zoom to Canvas

When your Zoom recording is processed, if you plan to share it using the Canvas Zoom integration and the "Publish" feature, you'll first need to import these meetings into Canvas.

To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Open the course in Canvas where you want the recording to be available
  2. Click the "Zoom" option in the sidebar
  3. Click the "All My Zoom Meetings/Recordings" link
  4. Click the "Cloud Recordings" tab to view your existing recordings
  5. Located your desired meeting and make note of or copy its ID
    1. This will be in the format nnn-nnn-nnn
  6. Click the "Zoom" option in the sidebar once again
  7. In the upper right, click the Image Added button and click "Import Meeting"
  8. In the prompt that appears, paste or enter in the ID of the recording from step 5, then click "Import"
  9. You'll receive a small green notification of "Import Success"
  10. Click on "Cloud Recordings" to view the imported recording

You can then choose to click the "Publish" toggle if you'd like the recording to be made available to students in their "Zoom" tab in your course.
