There are 30 credit hours of technical coursework required for the M.S.E. with Coursework. Six of the 30 technical coursework hours can be either graduate-level for credit/no credit or upper division level for a letter grade.
Five of the eight required graduate-level courses (three credits each, 15 credits out of 24 total) must be:
- A graduate-level course in biological or clinical sciences
- A graduate-level course in basic or applied math, or statistics
Graduate-level courses in three of the following:
- Technical Area 1 (imaging, instrumentation)
- Technical Area 2 (biomaterials, tissue engineering, drug delivery)
- Technical Area 3 (modeling, informatics)
- Technical Area 4 (biomechanics)
