COMPLIMENTARY TICKET POLICY AND PROCEDURES

Who is eligible?

Department of Theatre and Dance faculty, staff, TAs, AIs, production cast and select crew.

How many tickets can I request?

Department of Theatre and Dance faculty and staff are eligible for up to two complimentary tickets during the run of the production.

Production cast and select crew members are eligible for up to two complimentary tickets during the run of the of the production.

TAs and AIs are eligible for one complimentary tickets during the run of the production.

When can I request comp tickets?

Beginning two weeks before each production up until 5:00 PM the day before the performance. All weekday requests must be received at least one full day before the performance (i.e., 5:00 p.m. Monday for a Tuesday performance). As there is no one processing requests during the weekends, requests for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday performances must be received by 5:00 p.m. the prior Thursday.

How do I request comp tickets?

Reserved complimentary ticket requests must be made online at the Department of Theatre and Dance Store.

I've ordered my complimentary tickets online, what do I do next?

You may pick up your reserved complimentary tickets at the Department of Theatre and Dance Box Office on the date of the show. The Box Office opens one hour prior to curtain. Comp tickets will be issued in your name. Please collect your tickets at least fifteen minutes prior to curtain. At fifteen minutes prior to curtain, unclaimed comp tickets will be released.

There were no complimentary tickets available online. What do I do?

Reserved complimentary tickets are not available for every performance during the run of the production.

If you are unable to reserve a complimentary ticket in advance, it may be possible to attend the show for free by going to the Winship Box Office prior to the show and waiting for released tickets. At fifteen minutes prior to curtain, unclaimed reserved complimentary tickets will be released for general sale walk-ups, and/or those eligible for comps. Department of Theatre and Dance faculty, staff, TAs, AIs and production members should be prepared to show their university I.D. to the Box Office personnel.

I don't want to risk the show being sold out. What options do I have?

You may attend the invited dress performance for free. Seating is limited.
You may purchase a ticket in advance through Texas Performing Arts. Learn how to purchase a ticket here.

Important Information:

There are a limited number of complimentary tickets issued per production. Tickets are issued 'first come, first served'.

Reserved complimentary tickets are not available for every performance during the run of the production. Visit the Department of Theatre and Dance Store to check availability.

All seating in the B. Iden Payne Theatre is assigned. All seating in the Oscar G. Brockett Theatre is general admission. We are unable to arrange for complimentary tickets to be seated with purchased tickets for the B. Iden Payne Theatre.

Non-teaching graduate students and department undergraduate students may purchase a ticket for $15 at the Box Office. Students can save 30% on student price tickets by purchasing the Discount Ticket Package for Theatre and Dance Majors. Learn more here.
