EC-6 ESL Generalist

Intern Semester I

  • EDC 370E Language Arts
  • EDC 371G Teaching Young Children (taught by C&I faculty)
  • ALD 328 Applied Human Learning - W (taught by Ed Psych faculty)
  • EDC 339D Reading Assessment and Development (taught by C&I faculty)
  • EDC 370E Social Studies Methods (taught by C&I faculty)
  • 1 1/2 days per week in the field for 12 weeks (facilitated by College of Ed graduate students and adjunct faculty). A 13th week is allowed for make-ups and other related classroom experiences  per coordinator’s discretion.


Intern Semester II

  • EDC 370E Reading (taught by C&I faculty) 
  • EDC 370E Math (taught by C&I faculty)
  • EDC 370E Science (taught by C&I faculty)
  • EDC 331E School Organization and Classroom Management (taught by C&I faculty)
  • 2 days per week in the field for 12 weeks (facilitated by College of Education graduate students and adjunct faculty). A 13th week is allowed for make-ups and other related classroom experiences  per coordinator’s discretion.


Student Teaching Semester

  • EDC 370E Teaching English as a Second Language (taught by C&I faculty)
  • EDC 950E Elementary Grades Teaching Practice or SED 960E Special Education Practicum: 5 days per week in the field for 13 weeks (facilitated by College of Education graduate students and adjunct faculty). Two supplementary weeks are available to provide additional teaching opportunities, accommodate development needs of preservice teachers, or enable students to make up any absences that occur during the course of the semester.
