How Do I Get a Ticket? Can I See a Show for Free or at a Discount?

Invited Final Dress Rehearsal

This performance takes place the evening prior to opening night; curtain is typically at 8 p.m. There is no admission charge, and all majors are encouraged to attend. Invited Dress is not not open to the public, and seating is limited. A Major's Pass and valid student ID may be required for admission.

Major's Pass

This pass allows Theatre and Dance majors to purchase unsold seats for a discounted rate of $5. Discounted tickets may be purchased at the Winship Box Office five minutes before curtain. A Major’s Pass and valid student ID are required. All sales are cash only.

The box office staff will make every effort to accommodate students with this pass, but cannot guarantee admission. The Major's Pass is similar to flying ‘stand by’ on an airplane. If a show is sold out, Major’s Pass holders cannot be accommodated. If a student needs assurance regarding admission to a particular show, it's recommended they buy their ticket in advance (see Student Tickets below). Best days for using a Major's Pass: Wednesday, Saturday matinees. Note that the second weekend of a production run tends to have highest attendance and/or sell out.

Student Tickets

Students may purchase tickets to any performance for $15 by presenting a valid student ID at time of purchase. Visit our ticketing page for purchasing options. Tickets purchased online or by phone are subject to processing fees.

Student Ticket Packages – Save 30% off Student Ticket Rate

Students have the option to purchase this package when registering for classes, or at any time through the Cashier's Office. The cost is $45.00 when purchased in the fall, or $22.50 when purchased for the spring semester only. The package provides four tickets to Department of Theatre and Dance productions, distributed in any combination the student chooses (i.e. four tickets to one show, two tickets to two shows, etc.). Learn more about the Student Ticket Package.

After I See a Show, What Are My Next Steps?

Immediately after seeing a performance, students need to see a Front of House manager or usher in the theatre lobby. Front of House will provide the student with a validation sticker/card that includes the title of the production, date of the performance and space for the student's name. Students are to write their name on the sticker/card and return it to their instructor at their next class meeting. Validation stickers/cards are not available at any time other than immediately following the performance the student attended.
