All part-time student workers must log in to iChat as soon as they are on duty.  To set up an account, please follow the below steps:

Open iChat in Macintosh HD>Applications>iChat

Hit Continue.

  • Under Account Type choose from the dropdown list "Jabber"
  • Under Account Name type in your EID as yourEID@chat.communication.utexas.edu
  • Hit the dropdown arrow next to server options and type: chat.communication.utexas.edu
  • Hit Continue

Hit Done.

Congratulations, you're now connected.  You will be able to see several different departments by hitting the dropdown arrows, most importantly Tech Services.  All part-time staff are at the bottom under the name ServiceDesk Proctors.  Happy chatting.
