  1. If this is the first time you are using Outlook, just launch it to begin the profile setup wizard. Otherwise, open the Mail (32-bit) control panel. We recommend you just entire your name. The profile setup wizard will launch after this.

  2. At the Auto Account Setup window select "Manually configure server settings", and click Next.

  1. At the Choose Service window select "Microsoft Exchange or compatible service" then click Next.

  2. At the Server Settings window enter "outlook.office365.com" as the server name and your username in the format logonname@mccombs.utexas.edu in the username field. Also be sure to check the box "Use Cached Exchange Mode." DO NOT click Next yet. Instead, click More Settings...

  3. When the Microsoft Exchange settings window appears click the "Connection" tab. On that tab check the box to Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP. DO NOT click OK yet. Instead click Exchange Proxy Settings...

Ensure the box to "Connect using SSL only is checked as  "Only connect to proxy servers that have this principal name in their certificate". Enter "msstd:outlook.com" in the text field below this last check box. Check the box to connect using HHTP for both fast and slow networks. Change the proxy authentication settings dropdown menu from NTLM to Basic Authentication. After all this, click OK to continue.

  5. You will now be returned to the Microsoft Exchange settings window where you can now click OK to continue.

  6. You will then be returned to the Server Settings window where you can now click Next to continue.

  7. You will then see a Configuring window that will show you the progress of your profile setup. Each step will receive a green check mark as it successful completes. The process may take a few minutes.

  8. At some point you will be prompted to enter your user name and password. Enter your username in the format username@mccombs.utexas.edu, and be sure to check the box Remember my credentials before clicking OK.
