Images uploaded to TMS are reduced size surrogates (under 2MB) and original files must be added to the Blanton photo server. Access to the photo server is limited and access is provided by the Database Manager. The TMS surrogates are added to a remote server hosted by Gallery Systems when they are uploaded via TMS.

Images of artworks taken by staff for inventory and reference purposes are categorized as Study Images, and high resolution, color accurate photography, for reproductions are categorized as Object Photography.

Link New Image

  1. Prepare files by creating a copy under 2MB (px ratio 1920 x 1920 and 72 dpi)
  2. Name file with object number or exhibition format (see below)
  3. In TMS, open the record you wish to link an image to
  4. Navigate to the Object Photography section, or Related Media Xrefs table
  5. Click + at the top right of the media table to open the file widget
  6. Drag and drop a new image file to the widget
  7. In the pop up select the appropriate Media Department and file path for the TMS image server, click OK
  8. Click the edit icon under the thumbnail in the media table
  9. Add the Photographer whenever possible (exceptions are images shared by third parties where source is unknown)
  10. If the record being linked to is public (on eMuseum), then tick the Public Access box
  11. Add any copyright or other required statements in the Public Caption field.
  12. If you are uploading a new image to replace the existing thumbnail, tick the Primary Display box
