HTML Formatted Questions

Multiple Choice

The typical formatting choice for a simple multiple choice question. The choices are shuffled each time a new copy of the question is published.

Requirements - at least two answer choices and an explanation of the solution

Short Answer

Short answer questions are graded based on provided keywords for comparison.

Requirements - Case-sensitive keywords for grading, includes numerical keywords but must match exactly for credit and an explanation of the solution

Essay Questions

Essay questions are manually graded using the built-in essay grading portal.

TeX Formatted Questions

Allows for the inclusion of a script in either Javascript or C to accompany the question and provide additional randomization.

Multiple Choice - Simple Editor

A slightly more complex formatting choice for a multiple choice question. The choices are shuffled each time a new copy of the question is published.

Requirements - at least two answer choices and an explanation of the solution

Multi-part - yes

Eligible for homework or test - yes, to both

Randomization level - low/medium

Multiple Choice - Full Editor

A complex formatting choice for a high level of randomization in a question.

Requirements - at least two answer choices and an explanation of the solution

Randomization level - low-high (based on how it is utilized)

Numerical TeX

A numerical free response question that grades with a default of 1% deviation from the provided answer.

Multi-part questions can combine multiple choice questions with numerical responses.
