DocViewer is a lightweight, streamlined alternative to Meridian Explorer.

  • DocViewer has been tested with the standard browsers: Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
  • DocViewer is compatible with both Mac and Windows operating systems
  • DocViewer is built for responsive design and can be used on desktops, laptops, tablets, and phones.

User Interface

Launch Page

Select your site and building.  Document Type defaults to projects, but users can also select technical documents (specifications, O&M manuals, warranties, submittals,etc.) or drawings (AutoCAD format masters by floor or multipage PDF of all floors).

Clicking the DocViewer icon in the top left-hand corner of all pages will return you to this page.

Projects Page

The highlighted "Projects" button indicates you are looking at the projects that have documentation for your selected site/building.  

At the top of each column are sort icons () that allow users to quickly change how the results appear.  Click a project name to see project index and associated files.

The submenu between the building name and project listings will allow you to quickly go between the different document types without having to re-select site or building.

Enter a term, year, or project in the "Search for ...." box and press enter to quickly filter projects.

You can add the official building abbrevation to the end of the web address above to go directly to a specific building.  The below screen is shown from URL https://utdirect.utexas.edu/apps/campus/docviewer/MBB/

Project Index Page

This page will display the drawings for the selected project shown at the top of the page.  The items contained therein are sorted by discipline and ordered by page number.  Click a page number or description and the item will open in a new tab.

If there are additional document for this project associated with other buildings those will be listed above the drawings.

To download multiple files check the box to the left of the item (shown under  column) and click the download button at the top right-hand side of the window to initiate.

Technical Documents Page

The highlighted "Technical Document" button indicates you are looking at the technical documentation for your selected site/building. 

At the top of each column are sort icons () that allow users to quickly change how the results appear.  Click a document name and the item will open in a new tab.

Directly below the table headers you can enter a term, discipline, project, document sub classification, or year in the respective "Search for ...." box and press enter to quickly filter documents.

To download multiple files check the box to the left of the item (shown under  column) and click the download button at the top right-hand side of the window to initiate.

Drawings Page

The highlighted "Drawings" button indicates you are looking at the floor plans for your selected site/building. 

At the top of each column are sort icons () that allow users to quickly change how the results appear.  Click a document name and the item will download.

Directly below the table headers you can enter a term or floor in the respective "Search for ...." box and press enter to quickly filter documents.
