Research Restart - Information for Working On-Campus

  • UPDATE (05/19/2021): Effective immediately, masks are optional inside university buildings and outdoors. For individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have weakened immune systems, masking and social distancing are optional but recommended.
  • UPDATE (05/13/2021): As of 05/17/2021, we are at Research Level 1.
  • UPDATE (05/06/2021): The current social distancing square footage requirements will cease in on-campus spaces where research is conducted, effective 05/10/2021. Read more here.
  • UPDATE (04/15/2021): We will transition to Research Level 2 on Monday 04/19. Read this for more info.
  • UPDATE (02/23/2021): Read this and this to understand recent changes to UT's research guidelines.
  • Spring 2021 Planning
    • Vaccine info: Texas Department of State Health Services announced all adults are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine beginning Monday, March 29. Current faculty, staff, and students should use this form to sign up. Members of general public should sign up from here.
  • Use Protect Texas Together app
    • to track your symptoms each day and — based on those symptoms — see whether you are cleared to come to campus, and...
    • to record your room entries for contact tracing.
  • College of Natural Sciences - Research Restart Resources
  • Vice President for Research – If you work in the lab, make sure to read PI Research Restart Toolkit.
  • IACUC and Animal Resources Center
  • UT Proactive Community Testing for COVID-19
  • Visitors: Technicians, delivery persons and repair services can come on campus and into the buildings. However, their visits need to be coordinated with someone in the lab and that person needs to escort the visitor.  Because the elevators are locked down with restricted access someone that is allowed to be there has to accompany the visitor so that they can get up to the lab.  They still need sign into the lab for contract tracing purposes.
