Consistency in graphics and messaging makes it easy for people to form positive bonds with the brand. Consistency signals reliability and evidence of planning, longevity and strength, and a strong tradition and pride. Please use the available templates when possible. CANVA

Building a strong and consistent brand is the key to boosting brand perception and growth. Canva is a design platform for "non designers" to create their own materials and maintain brand consistency. We have created Texas McCombs templates for social media, posters, one pagers, postcards, etc. Additionally, you will have access to McCombs photography, fonts and colors for you to simply drag and drop into your marketing materials.

Syllabus (Word)

A syllabus should contain the elements, goals, and content of an entire course. Through it, the students find out about the type of learning and teaching they can expect from a class.

The file above is meant as a starting point, please check with the university for updated policies, or additional information they recommend adding.

How to update logos in existing Word documents

  1. Download the official formal (RGB / PNG) version of the logo.

  2. Open the document that needs the logo added.
  3. From the pull down menus, choose Insert > Header > Default.
  4. Click so that the cursor is inside the new header block.
  5. From the pull down menus, choose Insert > Picture > From File.
  6. Navigate to the downloaded logo, then click Open.


Electronic Letterhead (Word)

The Word template work on both Macs and PCs and can be opened in any version of Microsoft Word. There are template options for Texas McCombs branded alternate and official fonts.'



PRESENTATIONS


Texas McCombs Powerpoint Templates

  • Slide Selection: You can select and modify any of the existing slides in the template, or you can create a new slide employing the template’s Master pages
  • Placing Text: Select and delete the sample text in the slides, and add your own. Your new text should retain the formatting of the template

Update logos in Powerpoint documents

Manually add an new Texas McCombs logo, to one or all the slides.

  1. Download the official formal (RGB / PNG) version of the logo.

  2. To add a logo to all the slides, Select View  > Master > Slide Master . Select a slide master in the thumbnail on the left pane.

  3. Select  Insert  > Picture > Picture from File. Select the downloaded PNG file.

  4. Right click and Format Picture if you need to adjust the size. A pane will pop up on the right, select the Size icon and type in the "Scale Height" and "Scale Width", make sure the percentages are the same.
  5. Repeat steps 2 – 4 if you are using more than one slide master in your document.
  6. Close Master when complete.

ZOOM BACKGROUNDS

Upload a Texas McCombs or general UT image as a backdrop for your virtual Zoom meeting. The Zoom Virtual Background feature allows you to keep your private space private. Here are instructions on how to customize your background.


BUSINESS CARDS, LETTERHEAD, AND ENVELOPES

Order business cards, letterhead, envelopes, and other stationery items through the Document Solutions online portal. For custom orders or printing questions, contact Kristen Morales, our UT Printing representative. The stationery must be printed on white UT Austin watermark paper stock with the university seal printed to the left. Document Solutions is the only printing service with our watermark paper. Custom letterhead, envelopes and business cards are not permitted for official business. 

MBA student business cards: Texas McCombs has created an approved template for MBA student business cards, and each program has a specific process for ordering. Your MBA program will provide ordering information to you directly, but if you have any questions, please reach out to the MBA Student Affairs point of contact for your program.


ELECTRONIC LETTERHEAD

When you intend to deliver your message through email, electronic letterhead is permitted, provided that the correct template is used. An electronic version of our letterhead (Microsoft Word template) can be downloaded here. Do not print and distribute paper copies of the electronic letterhead; official Texas McCombs letterhead should be used for all paper-based correspondence. GT Sectra can be replaced with the alternate digital font Georgia. Benton Sans can be replaced with the alternate digital font, Arial. Styles and colors have been placed in the character styling.


NOTE CARDS / ENVELOPES

Note cards with A2 envelopes are available for faculty and staff. Contact Kristen Morales at Document Solutions to get pricing and coordinate printing. You will need to provide a name and title on the notecard, and address for the envelope. Multiple rounds of edits could cost a $25 fee.

POCKET FOLDERS

Order pocket folder through Document Solutions. Contact UT Printing directly to order, referencing the option numbers shown below.

EMAIL SIGNATURE TIPS

Do not add extra icons, logos, taglines or social media image links to your signature; images can come across as attachments and appear chaotic, and many email clients and mobile devices block them. 

  • Use a physical address only if it is necessary for your job.
  • Use the main phone number where you want to be reached; do not include a fax number. 
  • Manually input the colors to get the official UT colors. Do not select an orange or gray from the basic color menu.
  • Personal quotations or philosophical statements should not be included as part of your signature. Your email signature is a direct representation of the university’s viewpoint.
