Mission Statement

The DNA Sequencing Facility is a non-profit serving The University of Texas at Austin research community.  Our services and instruments are as comprehensive and accessible as possible to increase faculty, staff, and student research productivity.

Objectives

Under the direction of Dr. Mike Wilson, the Director of the Genomic Sequencing and Analysis Facility (GSAF), the current objectives of the DSF are outreach and education.  As opposed to being an anonymous resource, we aim to engage and build relationships with faculty, staff, and students who can benefit from our expertise.  We seek to achieve this by providing superior customer service, specific to each client.

Facility Affiliation

The DSF is no longer affiliated with the Institute for Cellular and Molecular Biology (ICMB).  Our new hierarchy:

  • DNA Sequencing Facility
  • Genomic Sequencing and Analysis Core
  • Center for Biomedical Research Support
  • College of Natural Sciences
  • The University of Texas at Austin
