The Department of Chemistry provides access to ChemDraw and ChemOffice+ (including a Signals Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) Individual Edition license) for the students, faculty, and staff of the University of Texas at Austin. The following steps will ensure the successful registration and installation of ChemDraw Professional 22 and ChemOffice+. 

Important: A UT email account is required.

ChemOffice+ and ChemDraw Professional 22.0

Account Registration

If you only wish to use ChemDraw Professional 22, you only need to follow the registration steps update the ChemDraw Professional 22 tab below. If you would like to use ChemOffice+ Cloud and the Signals Notebook, you must follows the registration steps under both the ChemDraw Professional 22 and ChemOffice+ Cloud and Signals ELN tabs below. 

Register for ChemDraw Professional 22.0: Create a PerkinElmer Informatics Account

  1. In your computer's web browser go to the PerkinElmer ChemDraw/ChemOffice Subscription Gallery: http://informatics.perkinelmer.com/sitesubscription/
  2. In the Search for Institution search box, search for and select University of Texas at Austin
  3. Under Register to download the latest version of ChemDraw, click Register.
  4. Fill out the User Registration fields using your UT email address, then click Submit.
    1. A pop-up indicating the member registration was successful may appear. Click OK to be redirected to the PerkinElmer login page. 
  5. Finish creating your account:
    1. Within the email from informatics.webmaster@perkinelmer.com, click Verify your email to open the PerkinElmer Informatics login page in your web browser
      1. If you never receive an email from PerkinElmer about creating an account password, check your Spam or Junk email folders. If there's not an email in Spam/Junk, go to the PerkinElmer Download Center login page ( https://perkinelmer.flexnetoperations.com/ ), click Forgot your Email address or Password?, and follow the instructions to reset your account password. 
    2. Under the Sign Up tab, enter your UT email and a password, then click Sign Up
      1. This password is your PerkinElmer Informatics password. 
      2. Note: This password must be different than your EID or UT email password!

Register for ChemOffice+ Cloud and Signals ELN: Create a PerkinElmer ChemDraw/ChemOffice Subscription Gallery / Signals ELN Account

  1. In your computer's web browser go to the PerkinElmer ChemDraw/ChemOffice Subscription Gallery: http://informatics.perkinelmer.com/sitesubscription/
  2. In the Search for Institution search box, search for and select University of Texas at Austin. 
  3. Under Access PerkinElmer Cloud Applications, click Register.
  4. Enter your UT email address, click Submit, then click Continue.
  5. Enter your information under New User Registration, then click Register.
    1. This password is your PerkinElmer ChemDraw/ChemOffice Subscription Gallery AND Signals ELN password.
    2. Note: This password must be different than your EID or UT email password!
  6. Within the email from informatics.webmaster@perkinelmer.com, follow the instructions to complete the account verification.
    1. If you don't receive the account verification email from PerkinElmer, check your Spam or Junk email folders.

Application Installation

ChemDraw Professional 22 and ChemOffice+ are available for macOS and Windows operating systems. The applications are bundled together into one installer, so follow the steps below for your computer's operating system to installed ChemDraw Professional 22 and ChemOffice+

Install

  1. In your computer's web browser, login to the PerkinElmer Download Center using your PerkinElmer Informatics account: https://perkinelmer.flexnetoperations.com/
    1. If you don't have a PerkinElmer account, follow the steps for ChemDraw Professional 22 under Account Registration above.
    2. If you have a PerkinElmer account but receive an error that an account with that email address does not exist, follow the steps for ChemDraw Professional 22 under Account Registration above.
  2. On the left side, click List Downloads, then click ChemOffice & ChemOffice+ Cloud Standard SNB Standard Bundle
  3. On the Download Packages page, click ChemOffice+ Cloud Standard SNB Standard Bundle. 
  4. Click the cd22.2.0.dmg File Name next to Mac OSX Installer for ChemDraw Professional v22.2. Do NOT close the browser window. 
    1. Note: you may see different version numbers if PerkinElmer has released an application update.
  5. Open the downloaded .dmg file. Drag and drop ChemDraw 22.2.0 and/or ChemOffice+ into the Applications folder. 

Activate ChemDraw

  1. Open ChemDraw 22 from Applications.
    1. If prompted with a window saying ""ChemDraw 22.2.0" is an app downloaded from the internet. Are you sure you want to open it?", click Open
  2. In the Activate ChemDraw window, fill in the information described below, then click Activate.
    1. Name: Your name
    2. Organization: University of Texas at Austin
    3. Email: Your UT email
    4. Activation code: 
      1. Back in your web browser, click List Entitlements on the left side under Activation & Entitlements
      2. Use the Product_Activation code for ChemDraw Professional. LARGE Academic Institutional Subscription, includes Support and Maintenance.
        1. If you receive a message saying "Activation succeeded but no activated licenses were found", use the Product_Activation code for ChemOffice+ Cloud Standard/Signals Notebook Bundle. Subscription, includes Support and Maintenance (L)
    5. Select Activate or deactivate online
  3. A window should open saying You have successfully activated ChemDraw with a license for ChemOffice Professional. Click OK.
  4. You'll be prompted to choose a location for personalized files. Click Install to use the default location (recommended), or click Choose Custom Location... if desired. 
  5. If taken to the Activate ChemDraw window again, click Activate and ChemDraw should open a new, blank file and the ChemDraw toolbars. 

Activate ChemOffice+

  1. Open ChemOffice+ from Applications.
    1. If prompted with a window saying ""ChemOffice+" is an app downloaded from the internet. Are you sure you want to open it?", click Open.
  2. For the Signals URL enter https://chemdraweln.signalsnotebook.perkinelmer.cloud and click Sign In
  3. Your web browser will open to the Signals Notebook login page. Login, then when/if prompted to allow ChemOffice+ to access your Signals Notebook, click Allow
    1. Note: do not refresh your browser tab because it will prevent the login being passed from your browser to ChemOffice+. Some password manager browser extensions can cause this issue if they refresh the page before autofilling information.
  4. Your web browser will redirect to the ChemOffice+ application and activate.

Install

  1. In your computer's web browser, login to the PerkinElmer Download Center using your PerkinElmer Informatics account: https://perkinelmer.flexnetoperations.com/
    1. If you don't have a PerkinElmer account, follow the steps for ChemDraw Professional 22 under Account Registration above.
    2. If you have a PerkinElmer account but receive an error that an account with that email address does not exist, follow the steps for ChemDraw Professional 22 under Account Registration above.
  2. On the left side, click List Downloads, then click ChemOffice & ChemOffice+ Cloud Standard SNB Standard Bundle
  3. On the Download Packages page, click ChemOffice+ Cloud Standard SNB Standard Bundle. 
  4. Click the cos22.2.0.exe File Name next to PC Windows Installer for ChemOffice+ Cloud Standard v22.2. Do NOT close the browser window. 
    1. Note: you may see different version numbers if PerkinElmer has released an application update.
  5. Open the downloaded .exe file and complete the steps guided by the installation wizard. You can use the default options or customize as needed. 

Activate ChemDraw

  1. From the Stat Menu, open ChemDraw 22.2.0.
  2. In the Activate ChemDraw window, fill in the information described below, then click Activate.
    1. Name: Your name
    2. Organization: University of Texas at Austin
    3. Email: Your UT email
    4. Activation code: 
      1. Back in your web browser, click List Entitlements on the left side under Activation & Entitlements
      2. Use the Product_Activation code for ChemDraw Professional. LARGE Academic Institutional Subscription, includes Support and Maintenance.
        1. If you receive a message saying "Activation succeeded but no activated licenses were found", use the Product_Activation code for ChemOffice+ Cloud Standard/Signals Notebook Bundle. Subscription, includes Support and Maintenance (L)
    5. Select Activate or deactivate online

  1. Open ChemOffice+ from Applications.

  2. For the Signals URL enter https://chemdraweln.signalsnotebook.perkinelmer.cloud and click Sign In
  3. Your web browser will open to the Signals Notebook login page. Login, then when/if prompted to allow ChemOffice+ to access your Signals Notebook, click Allow
    1. Note: do not refresh your browser tab because it will prevent the login being passed from your browser to ChemOffice+. Some password manager browser extensions can cause this issue if they refresh the page before autofilling information.
  4. Your web browser will redirect to the ChemOffice+ application and activate.

Access your Signals ELN in a web browser

Login to Signals using your UT email and Signals ELN password here: https://chemdraweln.signalsnotebook.perkinelmer.cloud/elements/

NOTE: If you attempt to sign in to Signals here: https://signalsnotebook.perkinelmer.cloud/elements/ you may receive a message saying "You need a license to access this application. You do not have a valid license for this application. Please contact the System Administrator if you feel that this is an error."


FAQs


As of October 2022, PerkinElmer has updated their login functionality for the PerkinElmer Download Center and existing users need to register again using the Account Registration steps for ChemDraw Professional 22 above. If you registered for ChemDraw using your UT email in the past, all of your licensing for previous versions of ChemDraw will transfer to the new account.
